This archive website gives an overview of the Jodo tournament performances by athletes and teams from the Polish Kendo Federation. It also highlights the coaches, athletes, and teachers involved in Jodo in Poland.
Since 2003, athletes from the Polish Kendo Federation have been proudly representing Poland at the European Jodo Championships. During those years, they've also taken part in various unofficial competitions across Europe, like the Ishido Cup, the German Championships, the Swiss Championships, the Paris Jodo Sai, and koryu jodo events in the UK and the Netherlands. Starting in 2006, the Polish Jodo Championships and the Jodo Pairs Tournament at the Summer Gasshuku have been a regular event.
The first medals from the European Championships were brought home by Adam Kitkowski and Jarosław Wolny in 2004, during the event in Sweden.

From 2004 to 2024, Polish athletes brought back a total of 84 medals from the European Jodo Championships in the individual tournament, including 21 gold medals, 17 silver medals, 32 bronze medals, 9 kantosho awards and 5 best tachi prizes. This means that our jodokas usually win their final matches. Additionally, we have won 10 medals in the team tournament of the Championships, including third place seven times, second place twice, and one gold medal. The honor of representing Poland at the central competitions has been bestowed upon 45 individuals, representing 8 clubs from 7 cities. Two of these clubs no longer exist, although they have successors. In 2019, we organized the 18th European Jodo Championships in Poland, joining the ranks of countries most engaged in promoting Jodo in Europe. We repeated this madness in 2025, by organizing the 23rd European Jodo Championships in Zielona Góra.
We would like to recall these exceptional moments in the history of Polish Jodo by remembering over 20 years of training and successes on the international stage.
