This page serves as an archive of Polish Jodo, documenting events, competitions, and individuals associated with the Polish Kendo Association. It is purely informational but may evoke memories and induce a sense of nostalgia. Some descriptions may contain inaccuracies, and certain events might not be included, especially in the Chronology section. If you have any information or comments that could enrich, expand, or improve this site, please do not hesitate to contact the Łukasz at lukasz.machura@gmail.com; I would gladly appreciate any assistance.
All interviews present original content that we do not alter; we have made minor corrections to errors or style here and there. Translations from foreign languages have been agreed upon with the authors.
The creator and initiator of this site is Łukasz Machura, who has been actively involved in the Jodo community in Poland since 2006. Being part of the official structures of the Polish Kendo Association from the very beginning, he has built a substantial archive of events, which you can find summarized here. For any questions regarding the site, it is best to contact him directly.
The majority of the entries about participation in the European Championships are authored by Agnieszka Krawczyk, who has been a member of the Jodo Commission for several years and has served as the coach of the Polish Jodo National Team since 2022.
We found many photos in the excellent archive of the Ōshūkan dojo in Warsaw, the successor of Tenshinkan. If you have some time to spare, it's worth checking out their Facebook fan page, where you'll find a wealth of old (and new!) photos and stories related to Budo.
